Jimmy is the Teaching and Curriculum Coordinator at the Sydney School of Education and Social Work. He is a passionate educator specialising in curriculum coordination, teaching administration, large-scale teaching and learning, and education design. Jimmy is a HEA Fellow with extensive experience at providing experiential, pedagogical, and transformative curricula to very large cohorts. Previously, he was an education-focused academic in the Business School and the Work Integrated Learning Hub, a Nominated Academic for educational integrity matters, and was an education designer at the Business School and Faculty of Medicine and Health.
As a researcher, Jimmy takes an emancipatory approach to education, aiming to elevate the interests of students and promote meaningful learning experiences. His research into transformative learning in higher education seeks to understand the unique learning experiences of students at Australian universities and foster teaching and learning practices that facilitate critical reflection, meaning making, and a greater understanding of self.
Before entering academia, Jimmy worked in both state and federal politics, and was a government relations consultant at one of the Big Four. He has a love of snow sports and is learning Basic Mandarin.
